Registration is now open for the summer 2023 season. All players ages 7 - 15 who reside in Greenwich, go to a private/public school in Greenwich or has a parent working for the town or Greenwich or own a business in Greenwich are eligible to play. Welcome to the Greenwich Youth 7v7 League, also known as the GYF7 League! We're excited to offer this league to young athletes in Greenwich. The league will be divided into 7 separate teams representing 7 neighborhoods of Greenwich: Old Greenwich, Riverside, Cos Cob, Glenville, Banksville, Byram, and Mianus. Each neighborhood will have teams in the following age groups: 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 15U.
Tournament-style gameplay will take place once a week on weekends, giving young athletes an opportunity to showcase their skills on the field. The benefits of playing 7v7 football go beyond just having fun and staying active in the offseason. By participating in 7v7 football, athletes will have the opportunity to work on their skills in a more competitive environment than flag football, which can ultimately lead to improved performance during the tackle football season.
The GYF7 League will run from June through July and standout players will be given an opportunity to compete for the Fairfield Superiors travel squad in the upcoming season. We're excited to see the talent that emerges from this league and look forward to watching these young athletes grow and develop as football players.
